Katee's Birthday

My baby girl is 11. It is hard to believe. She is growing up so fast. She is beautiful and kind. She is so fun to be around. She like art, music and dance. Playing is still an important part of her day. We had a donut party with Katee's cousin whose birthday is close to hers. They are cute girls and good friends. I hope they stay that way.My niece enjoyed her donut. What a cutie!

Katee had an icecream cake at her friends party. Katee invited 4 very nice girls to her party and I think this was the best party to date.

They had pizza then painted wood letters of their first initial. They went out Booing! It was pretty funny when a dog decided he needed the cookies more than the people did. It sure gave the girls a fright when he chased after them. I would have been scared as well. It was pretty funny though.

They painted fingernails and watched the Hannah Montanna movie. Then they danced to the Miley Cyrus cd. Check out the videos below.

Fall Festivities

This is a view of Layton from the mountainside where there is a very nice hike. On this hike, the girls heard a Rattlesnake. They stopped walking and asked what it was. I thought it was just an insect. But Gene said, "It's a Rattlesnake!" The girls were very smart to stop right when they heard it. It was right by the path. They would have gotten bit if they kept going. We decided this was a good place to turn around and start back. It was a beautiful day for a hike.
Leave it to Gene to find a recipe for salad in a Pirate book. This salad is called a Samondgunt or something like that. He wanted to try it out and it was really good!

So we went to the Black Island corn maze and other fall activites. It was a blast. They even had pig races. No, I did not win... They were real pigs.
Part of the day was to ride a trailer pulled by a tractor out to the pumpkin fields and pick out the pumpkin that you want. It is hard to believe they can grow so many pumpkins.

The sun was bright. We were in short sleeves during the day just a week and a half ago.

The Day of the MTC

We went to the Sister Missionary Mall and bought Laurie another skirt. Then we went out to eat. This was at the restaurant. Everything went by so fast we didn't have too much time to dwell on things.

I just barely got on the blog for the first time in a long time. This is the first I saw of what Laurie wrote on the last blog. That was very sweet of her. We miss her so much, but know she is doing well. Her letters are very fun to read every Monday. This picture is the one that is on her plaque at the church. I think she looks like a beautiful missionary!
